Description: Adorable, vintage " Pitukas" ( cuties ) doll is part of a late-90s series of dolls dressed in the brilliant, regional costumes of Mexico. Created by Muñecas Clementinas, Mexico's first domestically -owned commercial doll manufacturers, the petite (7") dolls with their cute, cartoony faces reflect the stunning folkloric styles and powerful craft traditions that underlie the country's rich textile heritage. Representing Mexico's Southeastern tip, this doll wears the traditional " tira bordada" embroidered blouse, rebozo and be-ribboned skirt in Tacotalpa blue designed by Valdiosera to commemorate the beauty of the Tabasquena state. Each ribbon signifies a natural feature or specific area within the region: blue for its rivers, green for its mountains, yellow for Chontalpa and red for the central region. Packaged in an original, apparently never-opened box, the doll completes her ensemble with bows and floral hair ornaments, earrings and shoes. The box, which bears its original tag from Sears/Mexico, does have some dings and wear as shown. The doll itself has a single grayish mark at the tip of her right index finger. A wonderful find for the collector, the boxed, vintage collector doll ships USPS Ground Advantage from Los Angeles.
