Description: Welcome to Milkweed Antiques. This delightful Antique Christmas tree ornament shows a bear sitting on a swing. The bear is made from composition or plaster that I tried to show in picture #8. This picture is greatly magnified. It is covered in off white spun cotton. It's eyes are glass. It is in the sitting position "holding" on to the goldtone metal garland that comprises the loop. The swing is made from a piece of thin wood that is painted silver. On the left side is a feather tree sprig. This fun ornament is from the Victorian era. It is 3-3/4" tall with the garland loop x approximately 2-3/4" wide x 1-1/2" deep. The bear is approximately 2-1/4" tall. This ornament was made in Germany but is not marked. It is from the 1910s. The tree is not included. It is for display only. This ornament has been used at Christmas through the years. There is wear to the cotton. There are marks and stains and just general age dirt. The cotton is worn in spots. The garland is bent.
