Description: This mid-century set of praying hands bookends appear to be made of walnut and each features an antique ivory colored pair of praying hands. I am not sure what the hands are made of, but look like some kind of composite material. The hands are very detailed. The bookends each measure approximately 5.5" high by 4 3/8" across, and 3/8" thick. The brass colored stands that are attached to each measure approximately 3" x 3.5". The protective green felt on the bottoms are worn, but intact. It seems that at one point in their history, someone thought putting random pieces of clear scotch tape on the stands was a good idea (probably a kid, as the tape serves no function whatsoever). I leave the removal to the buyer, as different people have different methods. When in use for their intended purpose -- holding up books -- the stands will not be seen, so something to keep in mind. Some small superficial scuffs here and there, the appearance of which may improve greatly with the application of the furniture oil or product of your choice. Please examine all photos closely, as photos are to be considered part of the description.
