His boss and best friend Benedict Baron dies suddenly, leaving behind him an inexplicable file, threatening the stability of the organization. Meanwhile, a seemingly chance encounter with Johnny's striking next-door neighbor and political activist Nancy Pierpan seems too good to be true. Johnny is forced to walk out of his job, and then out of his identity to find out the truth. Turks & Caicos (2014) Johnny Worricker is hiding out from his work at MI5 on the tax-exile islands, Turks & Caicos. But an encounter with a CIA agent forces him into the company of some ambiguous American businessmen who claim to be on the islands for a conference on the global financial crisis. When one of them falls in the sea, then it's their financial PR who seems to know more than she's letting on. But will she help Johnny come to an understanding of what these men do and why they're here? Salting the Battlefield (2014) The Johnny Worricker Spy trilogy concludes with Salting the Battlefield, in which our hero with his ex girlfriend, Margot are criss-crossing Europe trying to stay one step ahead of the security services and a vengeful Prime Minister. Worricker is being watched - His family and friends are being watched - He is running out of cash and he needs to make a move to reach an endgame. Page Eight (2011) Johnny Worricker is a lifelong member of the Security service. He's no longer married and realizes that he's not much of a father to his now adult daughter. His boss, Benedict Baron, asks him to review a particularly sensitive file that reveals not only that the CIA has illegal prisons around the world but that the British Prime Minister, Alec Beasley, was aware of them and knew about them all along. When Baron dies of a heart attack the Prime Minister personally tells Worricker that he has 12 hours to return the incriminating file or face the consequences. Johnny enlists the aid of his neighbor Nancy Pierpan but in the end he has to compromise, leaving him in a delicate situation. Turks & Caicos (2014) A few months after the events of Page Eight (2011) Johnny Worricker is lying low in the Turks & Caicos. He bumps into an American by the name of Curtis Pelissier who insists that he's met Johnny somewhere before. Johnny has no idea who he is but correctly makes him out to be a CIA agent. Pellissier introduces him to three men, all investor-entrepreneurs - who obviously don't think much of Johnny's claim to have been a humble civil servant - and co-owners of firm called Gladstone. With them is the head of their public relations agency, Melanie Fall. After one of the investors is found dead floating in the sea Johnny learns that the Gladstone group is affiliated with British financier Stirling Rogers and that they all may be involved in the very matter that led him to flee Britain in the first place - the rendition and torture of suspected terrorists. Salting the Battlefield (2014) Following the events in Turks & Caicos (2014) Johnny Worricker and Margot Tyrell are in Europe trying to stay one step ahead of the Security Service. Through his old friend and colleague Rollo, he's managed to plant a story in The Independent about the source of the Prime Minister's 'bridge' fund, but it gains little traction. Running low on cash, Worricker realizes that they'll have to go home. He pursues getting the story out by contacting The Independent's editor Belinda Kay and telling her the whole story. Meanwhile Jill Tankard, the head of MI-5, begins feeding information to Deputy Prime Minister Anthea Catcheside suggesting that the PM may be on his way out. For Worricker, he realizes too late that he too is a pawn in a much larger game. Since September 2011, the public every day reads of encroachments on their liberty which are justified in the name of security. David Hare's trilogy, ripped from the headlines, focuses on the internal divisions and arguments which have been raging inside an increasingly controversial intelligence community. Page Eight: Johnny Worricker (Bill Nighy) is a long-serving MI5 officer. His boss and best friend Benedict Baron (Michael Gambon) dies suddenly, leaving behind a contentious file whose explosive contents threaten the stability of the organisation. Meanwhile, a seemingly chance encounter with Johnny's striking next-door neighbour and political activist Nancy Pierpan (Rachel Weisz) seems too good to be true. Johnny is forced to walk out of his job, and then out of his identity to find the truth. Turks & Caicos: Johnny Worricker (Bill Nighy) is hiding out from his work at MI5 on the tax-exile island paradise Turks & Caicos. Trouble comes knocking when an encounter with a CIA agent (Christopher Walken) forces him into the company of some dubious American businessmen. Claiming to be on the islands for a conference on the global financial crisis, Worricker soon learns their shady activities extend far beyond luxury hotels. When one of them turns up dead, its their financial PR (Winona Ryder) who seems to know more than she's letting on. But will she help Johnny come to an understanding of what these men do and why they're here? As evidence linking them to Prime Minister Alec Beasley comes to light, Worricker must act quickly if he is to survive. Salting The Battlefield: Johnny Worricker and Margot Tyrrell are now on the run together across Europe, going from town to town in Germany. But Worricker knows his only chance of resolving his problems is to return home and confront his nemesis - the prime minister, Alec Beasley. To do this, he's going to have to bring to light some unsavoury facts about the prime minister's financial and business arrangements. But Worricker is haunted by the suspicion that he's not the only person out to undermine the prime minister.
