Description: Oil on panel painting of steep dramatic sea cliffs, signed lower right in the wet paint by noted Big Island Hawaii artist Patrick Louis Rankin, and dated 2000. The piece measures 9" by 12" (11 1/2" by 14" framed). At first I thought this perhaps coastal California or Oregon, but an internet search revealed information about the artist, who maintains a gallery at remote road's end in the far northwest corner of the Big Island. The area is known as North Kohala; this spot depicted appears to be known as Pololu. Condition is excellent. I did have to open this up and loosen the frame in order to be able to read the signature. A pleasing work for the aficionado of Hawaii's dramatic coastlines.
