Description: German Rococo Furniture - Ca. 1910 Berlin Design Portfolio - - - DESCRIPTION & CONDITION: George Lunt’s copy of Adolph Hoffmann’s ‘Holzsculpturen und Möbel in Rococo’, published by Hessling & Spielmeyer in Berlin, around 1910. This was apparently used in the design office at Lunt Silversmiths, with pencil sketches on some of the plates where designers were evidently working out designs for silverware based on the furniture designs. Board covers with a cloth spine, title page and 30 black & white plates. A working, beat-up copy, with very worn and soiled covers, the spine cloth damaged, the front endpaper detached, the rear endpaper missing, and one assumes there should be a plate list as well, which is not here anymore. The plates are generally clean except for scattered pencil sketches on them with designs, and a few with either chips or short rips.
