The instrumental was originally titled 'Rabble Rouser' but later was changed by Lee Hazlewood. Los Angeles studio musician Gil Bernal later ovedrdubbed the sax part while the doo-wop group The Rivingtons added the yells and handclaps. "Rebel--'Rouser" eventually peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned Eddy his first gold disc.
