Description: DIMINUTIVE ANTIQUE CHEROKEE RIVERCANE MARKET BASKET, CARVED HANDLE, VEGETAL DYES Incredibly rare small size for a market basket. I don’t remember ever seeing one after 40 years of selling hundreds of Cherokee Rivercane baskets. Neat carved oak handle which is notched below so that it interlocks. The diagonal design executed in alternating walnut and bloodroot dyed canes is an especially nice touch. Measures approximately 4” W x 6.5” L x 3” H (5” H top of handle). Circa 1920. Solid basket.
