Description: Buddy Lee Doll, Vintage Original 1949-Early 1950s Hard Plastic Advertising Mascot For Lee Jeans, With Cowboy Hat. This doll was originally used as part of an advertising display in a retail store, and was also played with as a doll. Buddy Lee is 13 inches tall and wears his original outfit: Lee jeans, a plaid flannel shirt and black felt hat with original hat band. Buddy's clothing is in very fine condition. the blue jeans are in "as new" condition. The shirt is in excellent shape and has its original buttons. The black felt hat retains its shape. The hat has various imperfections including some pitting to its felt surface, but the felt is entirely intact. There a small hole on the upper part of the hat (see detail photo). There is at least one other tiny hole on the hat brim (see detail photo.) The hat band, printed with a Lee slogan, is loose, but can easily be secured. The doll shows some signs of use wear. His painted-on boots have some chips; his face has some very light smudges. His painted hair is partly worn, and a crack on his head seam has been repaired, with transparent tape having been applied across the seam (see detail photo). There is a small gap in the right side of his head seam just above his ear (see detail of head side view). Buddy's features remain very strong and clear. His hands are in excellent condition.
