Description: Amazing Art To Wear Vintage Veranda Wear Guatemala Cardigan/Vest.I have been collecting Veranda Wear for years. This handwoven Guatemalan Huipil Attached to a knit and crochet body is so unique. . The Beautiful scene of Purple ,Orchid ,Yellow, Blue and black Parrots perched above fields of flowers is Stunning!!!! The embroidered huipil Top front and back is amazing !!! Gorgeous needlework!++++The hand carved bird buttons are precious but two of the three birds have lost their feet! I did not replace because the buttons add to the story of this creation.++++There is one stain on right front about six inches over from top two buttons by black stitches. see last photo. I never noticed until I was doing my final inspection before listing! I showed a picture of inside huipil with all the threads involved in this. Cardigan is unlined. I love the crochet work around neckline and the knit work is wonderful too!!. This is Vintage so there will be some loose or missing thread and knots .But such a work of art.Un Marked size probably a L/Xl In veranda Wear sizing which is generally oversized. I own several of their Huipil cardigan/vests. Veranda Wear was one of my favorite Art To Wear Creators!This is from the 80's and the Huipil could be much older.This can be layered over white linen blouse , black tunic or Maxi dress. This is Art to Wear at it's best.This would have taken months to create. I Love Guatemalan fibers and am hoping to go there someday and see the Women who weave and embroider all the amazing textiles I have collected for years.
